Katherine M. Hill is a self-publishing maniac living, working, and writing in Maryland. Katherine graduated from Towson University in May 2008 with a Bachelor of Science in mass communication (journalism and new media) and a Bachelor of Science in art (interdisciplinary photography). She is an hands-free, anything-goes overachiever masquerading as a sometimes know-it-all.
Katherine began her self-publishing odyssey in 2000 with her print-based zine Macaroon Shindig. The zine gained its Web presence in 2001 and currently hosts dozens of interviews, issues, and exclusive content. Features and interviews include Anberlin's Stephen Christian, brokeNCYDE, Devo's Gerald Casale, Gym Class Heroes, Henry Rollins, Motion City Soundtrack, the Plain White Ts, Reggie and the Full Effect, the Riot Before, and These Arms Are Snakes.
Katherine has since ventured into a number of Web-based projects, including the public transportation-centric The Perils of Public Transportation and hands-on digital instruction manual Lessons for Old People.
Katherine is a contributing artist to art blog Fast Food, international photography project and gallery show A Home for Alice, and transportation writer for Examiner.com's DC channel. She is always seeking new opportunities in journalism and photography.
Katherine is a proud NARAL Maryland volunteer, and happily devotes every Sunday during the school year to the trials and tribulations of her alma mater's analogue dark room where she advises, amuses, and encourages photography students.
She dislikes writing, typing, and talking in third person.
